Birmingham Trip. Reason for photos.

This artwork inspired me to ask questions in my artwork, because in this piece it made me more involved and interested by the process of asking questions like "If you make art what happens when you die?". The questions and sentences make it clear what the artist is experiencing and trying to express through their work. The question asked makes it clear that the artists is trying to express negative, dark emotions probably because their experiencing something which has caused them pain.

I took this picture for future use, as it might give me inspiration for my installation.

This piece of the artwork made me more interested, in using string to hang items as it gave the audience more than one point of view, on the work as the item could be observed in a 360 motion.
Hanging items, makes the artwork more surreal, therefore making it more interesting. The objects (paintbrushes) presented are not random, but related to the words used, this therefore makes the image the artist is trying to portray more clearer.

This picture was taken as it might be used for inspiration when arranging objects for future work.

This installation was present at the Icon. Its called "THE NAM. I took this photo because the way color is used to make mixed emotions is very inspirational. Its made me consider the connotations of color more when using it in my future work.

This installation changed due to the change in light which made me almost agitated. This has inspirited me to use lighting in my future work to make my work give off different emotions.

This artwork was most related to my abandoned theme. I believe the artist was trying to convey that abandoned objects have beauty behind them. The abandoned item being a empty canister and the beauty being a flower growing in the soil the abandoned object is buried in. the artwork alternatively suggests that nature is taking over and destroying man made objects. I believe he is trying to portray this war between nature and man. The artist Mat Collishaw was the most inspiring artist on the trip, I believe personally. He likes to show the negative aspects of life around use, for instance one of installation was based on a series of 12 crime scenes.

This photo was of the lift buttons at the Walsall Museum. I was intrested in the texture which was given off by the relfection of the light on the scratched metal. I believed this photo was appealing to the eye, due to the difference in tone between the top and bottom of the photo.

This texture was both smooth and rough. I believe it captured the man made world we live in. The dull, grey color of the texture made the atmosphere feel different. It was if all the joy was sucked out of the room, because it was colorless. Color plays a big part in creating emotions.
